Korean Learn (Level 2 part 22) [To be good and to like]

we wanna learn "to be good" and "to like"

the word that we use is 좋다 (jota)

example

한국어 좋아요 (hangugeo joayo) = I like korean language

이거 좋아요 (igeo joayo) = I like this

동방신기 좋아요 (dongbangsingi joayo) = I like DBSK

even though 좋다 (jota) are mean "to like" at the example.. its originaly means "to be good".. so in principle th
noun (한국어 hangukeo, 이거 igeo, 동방산기 dongbangsingi) are subject of the sentences

so the particle that are hiden after th nouns are not object marking particles but subject marking particles.

example
한국어 좋아요 (hangugeo joayo)
--> 한국어를 좋아요 (hangugeoreul joayo) [X]
--> 한국어가 좋아요 (hangugeoga joayo) [V]

so you are literally saying that korean is good, likeable, enjoyable for you ^_^


the different between 좋다 (jota) and 좋아하다 (joahada)

if you wanna express that you like something more precisely you can use 좋아하다 (joahada) wich means "to like" or "to be fond of" since 좋다 (jota) means "to be good" than the noun that go with it is a subject and for 좋아하다 (joahada), thenoun tat goes with it is an object

if you just drop the particles all together, you not need to worry about this difference
1. 동방신기 좋아요 (dongbangsingi joayo)
2. 동방신기 좋아해요 (dongbangsingi joahaeyo)

sentence number 1 and 2 mean the same but if you want to specifywhat is good and who like whom you might to add the particles

3. 동방신기가 좋아요 (dongbangsingiga joayo)
4. 동방신기를 좋아요 (dongbangsingireul joayo)

sentence number 3 means that you like DBSK but the number 4 is not corect because 좋다 (joda) is not a verb that can ave an object


5. 동방신기를 좋아해요 (dongbangsingireul joahaeyo)
6. 동방신기가 좋아해요 (dongbangsingiga joahaeyo)

sentence number 5 means that you or someone else like DBSK and number 6 means that DBSK likes something or someone, the subject is DBSK so you need to add what it is tat DBSK likes


sample sentences
1. 저는 우유를 좋아해요 (jeoneun uyureul joahaeyo) = I like milk
2.뭐를 제일 좋아해요? (mworeul joahaeyo?) = what do you like the best?
